19 athletes to represent VI @ 2022 Commonwealth Games - VI to make first appearance in Basketball

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The [British] Virgin Islands will be sending its largest-ever contingent at the Commonwealth Games which gets underway on July 28 and concludes on August 8, 2022, in Birmingham, England.

Some 19 athletes, including defending Commonwealth Games champion in the 400m Hurdles, Kyron A. McMaster, will be representing the Territorial Flag.

This will be the first Commonwealth Games with a VI basketball team and the second time cycling will be represented - the first occasion being Neil Thomas at Melbourne 2006.

The BVI Olympic Committee (BVIOC) announced the names of the athletes and executive that will be in attendance, at a press conference at the DYAS conference room this morning, July 11, 2022.
