Media Site Visit For Dominica’s Airport Project Announced

The people of Dominica may soon begin to get more updates about the island’s largest infrastructure project to date.

In a press conference on March 27, Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit announced that a media site visit will be held soon for the international airport that would serve as the world’s gateway to the Nature Island of the Caribbean.

The reporters are free to ask anything about the airport, from acquisition, to construction of homes, to construction of labs, to the equipment, and to the construction of the office spaces, among others, Skerrit said.

He also said that Dominicans will be informed of updates every step of the way.

Fully-funded by the Citizenship by Investment Programme, the airport will not put the Dominicans in a position to pay taxes.

Just this month, compensation to affected landowners of Dominica’s airport project has been handed out.

The equipment needed to start the project has also arrived in the island. The vessel from China delivered several pieces of equipment for construction and 44 massive containers holding necessary building materials for the billion-dollar airport project.
