Stridiron to serve up culinary delights as celebrity chef during Wine in the Warehouse

Digby Stridiron is back. The former chef at two award-winning restaurants — “Balter” and “Braata” — on St. Croix is returning home to serve as celebrity chef for the St. Croix Foundation’s Wine in the Warehouse.

The culinary event that melds into a networking fashion parade of locals and visitors is a popular fundraiser for the Foundation. The action kicks off at 6 p.m. on Friday at Bohlke International Aviation.  According to a released statement from the Foundation, Stridiron was the perfect choice this year with its theme “Rooted in Place.” Stridiron grew up on St. Croix around the “slow food” movement with fresh, “locally harvested ingredients and proteins gathered from the sea just steps away.”

Described as always “chasing flavors,” Stridiron is said to be inspired and guided by seasonal ingredients and regional recipes. He has been recognized for his culinary expertise in The New York Times, Food & Wine, The Wall Street Journal, Bon Appétit, Travel Leisure, The New Yorker, Coastal Living, among various publications.
