V.I.'s Barrows has medal shot pushed back a day

Ian Barrows will have to wait another day for his chance at a medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The St. Thomas native — sailing for the United States — and the other nine teams competing in Thursday’s medal race in the men’s skiff division twice had races abandoned in Marseille Harbor before officials decided to postpone the event until today.

The medal race for the women’s skiff division was also postponed a day, even with its 10 finalist teams waiting for the men’s race to conclude in the waters off Marseille’s Mediterranean coast.
