Agrifest promises abundance of fresh produce, native cuisine and entertainment
ST. CROIX – The countdown is on to the annual Agriculture and Food Fair, happening next week at the Rudolph Shulterbrandt Agricultural Complex in Estate Lower Love.

As is customary, the fair will be held over President’s Day weekend from Saturday, Feb. 15 through Monday, Feb. 17. Gates will open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Opening ceremonies kick off at 10 a.m. on Day 1 with the theme “Agriculture: From Soil to Soul, Nurturing VI Agriculture.” The annual fair, now in its 53rd year, is one of the largest displays of locally grown produce, livestock, and native cuisine in the region. On average, 30,000 people come through the gates of the fair over the three-day event.
Agriculture Commissioner Louis Petersen the family-oriented event will include interesting and attractive exhibits, entertainment, competitions, games, prize-winning animals, a variety of delicious local foods and drinks and is expected to draw residents as well as visitors from neighboring islands within the region and the U.S. mainland. In addition to participants from St. John and St. Thomas, guest vendors are expected to arrive from Antigua, Barbuda, Guyana, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, and Grenada.
