Cat burglar accused of stealing man’s tools on Main Street

A St. Thomas man was charged in connection to a rooftop burglary on Kronprindsens Gade last month.

Craig Stevens, 57, was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary, grand larceny, aiding & abetting and disturbance of the peace, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

Bail for Stevens was set at $25,000.00.

A male victim reported to the police on April 29 that his cabinet shop, located on Kronprindsens Gade, had been burglarized and that various tools essential for his business were stolen, according to the VIPD.

“The victim stated that the intruder gained entry through the roof of the shop,” VIPD spokeswoman Kishma Chichester said.

Stevens was taken into official custody Monday and charged in connection to the burglary, according to Chichester.
