Residents of St. Croix are called to unite on October 20 for a march organized by Dr. Gail-Ann Guy and local partners, aiming to raise awareness and take action against gender-based violence and community abuse
ST. CROIX — The Cry RAPE Campaign is mobilizing the community for its "Walk Against Violence" event scheduled for October 20, in Frederiksted. Organized by Dr. Gail-Ann Guy in partnership with local organizations, including the V.I. Police Department, Beautiful Dreamers, and HOPE Inc., the event aims to unite residents in taking a stand against violence in all its forms.
Participants are set to gather at the Frederiksted Police Station at 3:00 p.m., with the march commencing promptly between 3:45 and 4:00 p.m. The walk will proceed through Frederiksted’s streets to raise awareness about the impact of violence on individuals, families, and the broader community.
“We are calling on the community to come out in support of this powerful cause,” said Dr. Gail-Ann Guy, the campaign organizer. “Violence affects us all directly or indirectly, and it’s time we take a united stand against it. This walk is not just about awareness but about action – about saying, ‘enough is enough.’”
