Delilah Pease & Ethan Mohamed take historic silver @ Caribbean Squash C/Ships

KINGSTOWN, ST Vincent & The Grenadines- The [British] Virgin Islands captured its first silver medal in 14 years at the Caribbean Squash Championships when 8-year-old Delilah Pease competed in the Girls Under 11 Final in St Vincent and the Grenadines on Monday, July 17, 2023.

Additionally, Ethan Mohamed also reached the final in the Under 13 category to capture the VI’s second silver medal.

Delilah Pease vs Gia Ghuran

Pease fought valiantly against the number 1 seed and very impressive Gia Ghuran of Trinidad and Tobago, who prevailed 11-5, 11-7, 11-5.

Both girls had navigated their way through the draw without dropping a game.

According to coach Adam Murrils, it was an incredible debut performance representing the VI from Delilah. “She’s only 8 years old and will have two more years to try and go one better and get her hands on the trophy! I certainly wouldn’t back against her!” Murrills exclaimed.

Ben Shepherd vs Ethan Mohamed

Ethan Mohamed also had an opportunity to play for the gold medal but was overcome by the skillful Ben Shephard of Barbados.

Shepherd won 11-1, 11-5, 11-3.

Murrills reported that Ethan managed in patches to play some high quality squash, but he couldn’t quite match Ben’s consistency.
