Frenchman’s Cay bridge re-construction to start Feb 14, 2022 - New bypass road to ensure access to the area will be constructed ahead of demolition

WEST END, Tortola, VI – The long-overdue and urgently needed re-construction of the Frenchman’s Cay bridge will commence on February 14, 2022.

This was revealed during a community meeting on Sunday, January 30, 2022, at the newly renovated West End Community Centre.

Among those present at the meeting were Premier and Minister of Finance Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1), Health Minister Carvin Malone (AL) and Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities, Hon Hon. Kye Rymer (R5), along with his team from the Ministry of Transportation & Works.

It was revealed at the meeting that the project will commence mid-February and that the contractor was selected through an independent and transparent tender process.

“This is a long-overdue problem that needed urgent attention for years. Finally, the issue is now well in-hand,” the Premier added.
