Fugitives Arrested at St. Thomas Airport Bound for Mainland

ST. THOMAS — Two individuals, apprehended at Cyril E. King Airport while attempting to board flights to the mainland, are facing charges as fugitives from justice.

Jasmine Cherie Sheppard was flagged at the Customs and Border Patrol Checkpoint on Sunday afternoon as she attempted to board an American Airlines flight to Miami, after the system indicated that there was an arrest warrant in her name.

Check with Fort Bend County in Texas revealed that the warrant for the Louisiana native was indeed active, and thus she was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice.

Hours later, CBP officers raised the alarm after an active warrant issued out of Hudson Country, New Jersey was uncovered for the arrest of Taheim James Hart.
