Hurricanes finish 2nd at ISSA Mallory Nationals

Antilles School’s sailing team fell just shy of winning its eighth Interscholastic Sailing Association national championship over the weekend, finishing second in the ISSA Mallory Doublehanded National Championships in Charleston, S.C.

The Hurricanes – a four-time winner of the Mallory Trophy (2021, 2013, 2011 and 2006) – finished the two-day regatta in Charleston Harbor with 294 points, just 18 points behind The Severn School of Severna Park, Md., which won with 276 points. St. George’s School of Middletown, R.I., was third with 308 points.

It was the third national championship for Severn School and second in as many years. The Admirals won the ISSA Baker Team Race Nationals last year, and won its first Mallory Nationals in 2008.
