Liberty VI Extends Fiber Infrastructure in St. Thomas With New Kronprindsens Gade Work

Liberty VI is continuing fiber network construction in St. Thomas with a new phase of work underway along Kronprindsens Gade, part of the company’s ongoing effort to expand high-speed internet infrastructure across the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The latest construction activity began Saturday, February 7, in front of the V.I. Department of Labor Office and is scheduled to conclude by Tuesday, February 10. According to Liberty VI, the work will extend fiber connectivity to surrounding areas and support expanded broadband capacity for both residential and mobile services.

Once completed, the project will allow 486 homes in the Kronprindsens Gade community to access Liberty’s Fiber to the Home broadband service. The work also includes fiber deployment to the Harborview cell site, which Liberty VI said will enhance broadband mobile capacity in the area.

“As we acquire the necessary permits, we are moving forward with our Fiber to the Home construction projects so more locations in the territory can have access to our fiber fast internet,” said Ravindra Maywahlall, general manager of Liberty VI. “We will continue informing VI consumers about the next areas where we will schedule Fiber to the Home construction projects.”
