Murderers ‘literally’ walking around in VI communities– Premier Wheatley -As residents unite for ‘Stop the Violence March’ in East End

EAST END, Tortola, VI – Residents of the Virgin Islands (VI), particularly those in the East End Community, on Sunday, August 20, 2023, came together for a march to end violence in the VI. It was dubbed ‘Stop the Violence March'.

Premier and Minister of Finance, Dr the Hon Natalio D. Wheatley (R7), speaking at the event, told residents that one way they can stop the violence in the VI is for the people of the community to take the initiative.

“We have a great battle on our hands in this community and in the entire Virgin Islands.”

Premier Wheatley added, “We cannot give up hope, we cannot allow despair to overtake us, but we face a very significant challenge, and it is literally a battle between good and evil. It is a battle between love and hatred. It is a battle between peace and violence,” he said.

The Premier continued that each individual in the VI community has to take responsibility and accountability for winning the battle. He reminded that communities in the VI were places of peace where persons were able to sleep with doors unlocked.

He also warned that there are murderers 'literally' walking around in VI communities and possibly interacting with unsuspecting persons.
