Police make 4 gun-related arrests including that of man at BCB game

V.I. Police have arrested several people for illegal gun possession in recent days, including a 19-year-old charged with carrying a gun during a basketball game at a St. Thomas school.

On Saturday, a police officer on patrol during a basketball tournament at Bertha C. Boschulte Middle School noticed a group of men acting suspiciously, and saw one tuck something under his shirt, according to a probable cause fact sheet filed in V.I. Superior Court.  The officer questioned the man, later identified as Tony A. Isaac, and patted him down for safety, which is when he found a gun tucked under his arm, according to the fact sheet.

Police identified the gun as a .45 caliber Taurus, fully loaded with 10 rounds.  On Friday morning, police arrested a man named Jessie Odom after a security guard at Sapphire Beach found Odom sleeping in a construction vehicle on the property. Odom was seen removing a bag from the vehicle, and the guard asked him to open it and saw a gun inside, according to the fact sheet.
