Pompano Beach homicide suspect surrenders

The Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit says the suspect in the murder of a Pompano Beach man has been arrested.

According to reports on Wednesday, Aug. 21, Lawan Jones Jr. was taken into custody on a warrant for the murder of his girlfriend’s father, Keith Bryan Poole. At approximately 4:44 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, BSO deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded to a shooting call near the 1500 block of Northeast 28th Street. On scene, emergency crews located the victim, Poole, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported Poole to Broward Health North, where he was later pronounced deceased.
