Shooting Tragedy Strikes Aureo Diaz Heights, Leaving One Dead

ST. CROIX — A 25-year-old man was shot and killed late Wednesday afternoon in the Aureo Diaz Heights housing community, according to the V.I. Police Department.

Police were alerted to an unresponsive male at approximately 5:01 p.m., and upon arrival, VIPD officers discovered the man lying on the ground, showing no signs of life.

The initial examination revealed that the victim, identified by relatives as Daniel Sanes, had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
