Last week Saturday at 6:00 a.m., police were dispatched to a residence in Estate Concordia to investigate a report of destruction of property.
Responding officers met a woman who told them that her ex-boyfriend, Jahni Hamilton, had come to her house, opened the security gate and started pounding on the front door. When she refused to open the door, the woman said Hamilton kicked the door in, came inside her house and pushed her teenage son. The boy reportedly pushed back, and Hamilton then left the residence, walking east along the Queen Mary Highway.
Despite searching the area, police were unable to locate Hamilton. They finally found him on Wednesday at the Frederiksted Vegetable market, where he was arrested and searched for officer’s safety.
Police found his bag to contain a small plastic bag containing 7 grams of a substance that returned positive test results for cannabis, 28 vials containing a combined 102.2 grams of a substance that returned positive test results for cannabis, one vial containing 6.3 grams of a substance that tested positive for cocaine, and 7 tablets of what appeared to be the popular antibiotic doxycycline, weighing almost 7 grams.
