UberSoca Cruise To Dock on St. Croix for J’ouvert Fete

On Oct. 24, the Norwegian Jade will dock at the Ann E. Abramson Marine Facility (Frederiksted Pier) on St. Croix with more than 2,500 revelers as part of the momentous 10th voyage for UberSoca Cruise to partake in a one-of-a-kind J’ouvert celebration, the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism and Division of Festivals announced.

Routed through the streets of Frederiksted, the UberSoca Cruise x USVI J’ouvert, presented by the Tourism Department, will immerse revelers in the unique sounds and traditions of a Crucian celebration, according to the press release. “As we continue to expand marketing the destination to the world, we know the importance of continued recentering in culture and heritage,” Tourism Commissioner Joseph Boschulte shared. “The partnership with UberSoca Cruise allows us to connect and showcase our islands with the Caribbean diaspora and lovers of our rich regional culture.” On the two-mile route, cruise guests and locals will engage in a Zombie-themed road J’ouvert, a vibrant celebration involving paint, powder, and foam. UberSoca Cruise entertainers will supplement this festive event, including Virgin Islands natives DJ Avalanche and Adam O. The celebration will conclude at Frederiksted Beach with a Beach Party. Attendees will enjoy performances by St. Croix’s own Pumpa and International Bouyon Artist Asa Bantan, complemented by an array of local vendors offering drinks, food, and treats, the press release stated.
