V.I. airport terminal project’s contractors unite under the name ‘SkyCity’

The consortium of local and outside companies tasked with redeveloping King Airport on St. Thomas and Rohlsen Airport on St. Croix unveiled the brand name for their partnership, SkyCity, on Sept. 30.

SkyCity is a special-purpose company representing a partnership of businesses including Canadian construction firm Aecon Group, U.S.-based development and infrastructure asset management firm Tikehau Star Infra, St. Croix-based construction company J. Benton Construction, and U.S.-based airport operation and management firm Avports.

“The SkyCity partnership represents more than just a business venture; it’s an opportunity to build meaningful connections with the people, culture, and heritage of the islands,” Moe Kamleh, SkyCity’s director of technical services, operations and maintenance, said in a statement emailed to the Virgin Islands Daily News. “We look forward to contributing to the future growth and success of the U.S. Virgin Islands and all partners are excited to contribute to this transformative milestone.”
