VI 'considering' lifting visa restrictions for Guyanese travelling to VI- Hon Lorna G. Smith

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, SA - The Virgin Islands (VI) is currently considering lifting its visa restriction for Guyanese traveling to the VI, Deputy Premier and Minister for Financial Services, Labour and Trade Hon Lorna G. Smith, OBE (AL) has said.

Hon Smith was at the time speaking to Guyanese media while on a visit to the country as part of a government and business delegation exploring investment opportunities and other projects in the South American Nation.

“I have been authorised to say that the BVI is considering lifting that [visa] requirement and I expect it to happen very soon," Hon Smith said during an interview with the Newsroom.

She added, “If we are serious about doing business with Guyana and a partnership with Guyana, that is the first thing that has to be lifted.”
