VI Government Opens 'Invest USVI' Office in Taiwan as Bryan Holds Business Development Talks With High-Level Gov't Officials

Governor Albert Bryan is in Taiwan this week, leading a USVI delegation to further advance a 2018 initiative to strengthen USVI-Taiwan economic & cultural affairs relations.

Government House Communications Director Richard Motta said that the governor would be meeting with key high-level Taiwanese officials in government and the private sector to create strategic partnerships and develop business between the two jurisdictions.

During the week, Mr. Bryan is expected to oversee the opening of the first Invest USVI office in Taiwan, which is designed to attract foreign direct investment into the territory not just from Taiwan but also from the broader Asia-Pacific region. The office, according to Government House, will operate as a public-private partnership unit for the USVI government and private sectors. The Taiwanese government will assist via the provision of subsidies to support the officer’s operation in Taipei.

The governor will also attend the 2023 Smart City Summit & Expo.
