147 Cross Country Athletes Compete in the SCIAA Cross-Country Championship

147 cross-country athletes competed in the SCIAA Cross Country Championship on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the cross-country course in Estate Negro Bay, St. Croix. The top five runners of each team scored points according to their place. In cross-country, the team with the lowest score wins.

In the Girls Elementary 1-mile race, Good Hope Country Day School won the team championship with its runners finishing in 1, 2, 3, 7 and 13, giving them a total score of 26 points. Lew Muckle finished in 2nd place in the team standings with the runners finishing in positions 6, 11, 17, 24 and 25 for a total score of 83. In 3rd place in the team standings was Free Will Baptist Christian School with a total score of 98; their athletes finished in 9, 12, 20, 28 and 29.

The Elementary Girls Mile Race had 36 finishers
