BVI Moves to be launched on Saturday

-programme is an initiative of the Ministry of Health & Social Development

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A new programme dubbed ‘BVI Moves’ will be launched by the Ministry of Health and Social Development on Saturday, September 14, 2024, during Caribbean Wellness Day celebrations. The launch will take the form of a run/walk starting at the Ralph T. O’Neal Administration Complex from 6:00 a.m., which will take participants along Admin Drive onto Dual Carriage Way following the path down to ZBVI in Baugher’s Bay and back to the complex.

Other Caribbean Moves inspiration for BVI Moves- Hon Wheatley

According to Minister for Health and Social Development, Honourable Vincent O. Wheatley (R9), " The initiative was born out of the remarkable success of Caribbean Moves in other countries and our experience from the successful BVI Run/Walk Program from 2015,” the minister said. He added, “The BVI Moves programme will be implemented using a three-pronged approach by establishing partnerships with communities, schools and workplaces.”

The Minister expressed excitement about the launch of the programme designed to improve the health and well-being of the people of the Virgin Islands community.
