Easy Beach Shuttle program to launch in V.I. National Park

Friends of Virgin Islands National Park announced the launch of the Easy Beach Shuttle Program to help encourage more people to park and ride into the Virgin Islands National Park.

The pilot transportation program will allow visitors to park for free at Caneel Bay and taxi to any of the popular North Shore beaches, such as Cinnamon Bay or Trunk Bay.  The program will start on Sunday and will run through May 30, 2025.  “There have been significant increases over the years in road traffic and over parking at North Shore beaches causing safety issues and damaging natural and cultural resources,” Tonia Lovejoy, executive director of Friends of Virgin Islands National Park, said in a press release. “As community leaders discuss similar challenges and potential solutions, we would like to see what we can do now to address this particular issue and gauge our capacity to direct visitors to a new transportation option in the park.”
