Environmental concerns causes relocation of Romalia Smith Clinic

The Romalia Smith Clinic on Anegada has been temporarily relocated due to environmental concerns, the BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) has announced.

While the BVIHSA did not disclose specific details regarding the concerns, it confirmed that clinic operations have been moved to an apartment building on the island.

“The Romalia Smith Clinic has been temporarily relocated to Smith’s Apartment due to environmental concerns that require further assessment,” the BVIHSA stated.
No timeline was provided for the assessment, but the BVIHSA assured that further updates would be given once the review is completed.
During this period, the clinic will operate on an emergency-only basis.
“Emergency medical services will remain available. The healthcare team will operate from Smith’s Apartment—a temporary location—to continue providing essential care,” the BVIHSA stated.
Residents in Anegada needing medical assistance are advised to contact the BVIHSA at (284) 440-1646 for emergencies.
