LEPC Announces RFP Submission Deadlines for Federal Justice Assistance Grants

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – The Virgin Islands Law Enforcement Planning Commission (LEPC) is pleased to announce it is accepting proposals effective April 8, 2024 and closing on May 20, 2024 for three federal Justice Assistance Grants (FY2019, FY2020 and FY2021).

The Virgin Islands Law Enforcement Planning Commission (LEPC), with funding through the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs is facilitating the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant.

Applications are being accepted from private non-profit organizations, faith-based organizations, government agencies, law enforcement programs, youth programs, rehabilitation, drug treatment and behavioral health programs, to assist in implementing effective crime prevention, control, reduction, enforcement of criminal law, and criminal justice improvement projects.

The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant is the primary provider of federal criminal justice funds. Funds are used to address law enforcement efforts to prevent or reduce crime and violence, to address drug related and juvenile delinquency issues, law enforcement programs, drug treatment and enforcement programs, prevention and educational programs, prosecution and court programs, corrections and community corrections programs, planning, evaluation and technology improvement programs, crime victim and witness programs and mental health programs and related law enforcement and corrections programs, including behavioral programs and crisis intervention programs. For summer and after-school programs, the funding limit per application is $10,000-$40,000.
