Man charged with credit card fraud, theft

A 26-year-old man was arrested Wednesday and charged with stealing $23,321 through fraudulent credit card transactions, according to V.I. Police. Elvis Villar Jr. was apprehended by Customs and Border Patrol agents at Rohlsen Airport on Wednesday while attempting to leave St. Croix. Federal agents turned him over to detectives from the V.I. Police Economic Crimes Unit, which has been investigating Villar since Feb. 28, according to police.
