Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Kmart Lockhart Mall in St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS — An emergency call was placed to the 911 Emergency Call Center at 8:29 a.m. on Thursday, reporting a robbery at the Kmart Lockhart Mall in St. Thomas, the VIPD has announced.

According to the 911 Central dispatch, a black male allegedly took several items from the store and then brandished what seemed to be a firearm at the security officer before fleeing the scene on foot.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau is actively investigating the incident. The authorities are calling on anyone with information related to the crime to come forward and assist in the investigation. Individuals with knowledge of the event are encouraged to contact 911 or Detective D. Greenaway-Thomas of the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211 ext. 5574. Alternatively, tips can be anonymously reported to Crime Stoppers V.I.
