A delegation of local officials led by Premier Andrew Fahie has gone to Miami, Florida for this year’s Seatrade Cruise Global — an annual event for the global cruise industry that brings together buyers and suppliers from 140 countries.
It is being held from September 27 to 30.
Premier Fahie said he and his delegation will host and engage in key strategic meetings with stakeholders to bolster the restart of the BVI’s industry.
A media release for the Premier’s Office said the delegation will also engage several independent business operators including vendors, cruise operators, BVI tour Ambassadors, tour operators, attractions, activity suppliers, bars and restaurants.
“This year’s event is critical to the tourism industry as several cruise lines have recently restarted cruising from several ports around the world. Industry partners will discuss various topics including community stewardship, operational practices, health and safety, and sustainability,” Premier Fahie stated.
