ST. THOMAS — Rashida A. Hodge wants to open doors, educationally speaking, for young Virgin Islanders.
To that end, the 1998 graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School has established a scholarship fund through the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands for students interested in pursuing an engineering degree at her college alma mater, North Carolina State University. On Tuesday, CFVI announced the $1M Rashida A. Hodge Scholarship Fund, noting in a released statement the “transformative scholarship represents not just an investment in education but a bold commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders from the U.S. Virgin Islands.”
“This prestigious fund will offer a full undergraduate scholarship, covering tuition, housing and fees at North Carolina State University (NCSU), Hodge’s alma mater, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in industrial engineering. The scholarship provides a life-changing opportunity for deserving students from the U.S. Virgin Islands public school system,” according to the CFVI statement.
