T-Mobile Officially Launches with Focus on Excellence and Experience Representatives Say

While they’re proud of their upload and download speeds, what makes the difference in T-Mobile, according to officials attending a recent launch on St. Thomas, is the company’s team and its commitment to “experience and excellence.”

The telecom “un-carrier,” as it calls itself, soft-launched a few months ago but officially rolled out the magenta carpet on St. Thomas last week, with T-Mobile Senior Manager Market Sales Wency Baerga putting the emphasis on the build-up over the past two years. T-Mobile’s engineering department was focused on putting in place a “top of the line network,” while the information technology department built up the necessary systems and the crew in inventory stockpiled the latest devices based on market forecasts.

The results lay in the enhanced service experience T-Mobile customers get and the company’s commitment to continue transforming its location across the territory into hubs for technology that the public can “truly enjoy,” Baerga said.

Outside of service, the T-Mobile team said the company has already deployed its 5G technology in all sites across the island and established redundancy on its networks with batteries and power generators. Asked about gaps in coverage, Baerga said congestion – which is what tends to slow down upload and download speeds in more highly populated areas – shouldn’t be a problem. The team has been downloading at 60 megabytes per second and uploading at 30, while competitors, she added, remain under 10 in both.
