The closure of Connections earlier this year marked the end of an era, but two St. Johnians have stepped up to carry on the tradition of providing mail and business solutions to the community.
The Pelican Post, located in the pink building at the corner of King Street and Prince streets in Cruz Bay, opened its doors for business last month. Owners Crystal George and Krista Kremer both agreed that they are looking forward to providing the much-needed business services. “We are very excited for all that we will be able to offer to the community by having our services available,” Kremer told The Daily News.
“We do find that there are a lot of small businesses that need help, and they can’t necessarily hire someone full time,” George added. “We have staff on hand that can provide that need for the small businesses.” The mail and business center offers a variety of services including mail pick up and drop off, packaging and shipping, copy services, lamination and shredding, bookkeeping, payroll processing, business license renewal and establishing, LLC formation, and property management services.
Both from St. John, George and Kremer have been friends for more than 15 years and started working together seven years ago by selling drinks at a St. John Celebration Food Fair. “We’ve always explored the possibilities of different business ventures,” George said. George has a work background in accounting and property management, while Kremer has worked as a massage therapist for more than 15 years. When Connections was initially for sale in 2020, Kremer spent time learning how the business operated and had an interest.
