Walwyn blasts Premier’s so-called Trinidadian “spin doctor”

Sixth District Representative Myron Walwyn has accused a government advisor of being divisive and suggested he would stop at nothing to remove him from the BVI.

Sixth District Representative Myron Walwyn has slammed an unnamed government advisor from Trinidad, accusing him of creating division in the BVI. During a recent Opposition press conference, Walwyn said the advisor was being paid $10,000 monthly from the public purse solely to act as a “spin doctor” for Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley.

Walwyn claimed that the individual is “causing nothing but confusion” and introducing “Trinidad politics” into the BVI. “I want him to hear me well. I’m going to live on top of you until you come out of here. Because this is not the kind of politics that we want in our country,” he said. The Opposition member pointed to a graphic allegedly distributed by the Premier’s office, which suggested that the government had been cleaning up a legislative “mess” left by previous administrations, which included some current legislators.

Walwyn found this assertion offensive, particularly because he believes that the Opposition has been instrumental in helping the government pass various pieces of legislation. “It is this Opposition that has assisted and helped the government to pass all those pieces of legislation, and for him to turn around and suggest that he cleaned up our mess, to me, is so disingenuous,”
