GREENLAND, Tortola, VI- With a hard-fought 4-2 victory over Panthers FC, at the weekend, Wolues slid quietly into second place in the standings and within five points of Islanders FC with three games in hand.
Hugo Costa Liziario netted a brace whilst Abner Villanueva and Phillip Nelson were also on the scoresheet.
“It wasn't our greatest performance,” commented Nelson, “but we always felt like the victory would be ours. Large parts of the game were played in their half which was pleasing, and it could have been more, but three points is really all we wanted. Each time we conceded we hit back quickly, which showed a good mentality from the team. We are still getting back into it after a break but that is another 90 minutes under our belts, and we will look for a good performance in the next game.”
That game is against VG United who are on thirty-one points and sit in third place behind the Wolues, who have thirty-three points.
