Dense cloud of Saharan dust sets in

SAN JUAN — A dense Saharan Air Layer will move across the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico today.

It will occupy our islands for at least three consecutive days, starting from today and extending until at least Thursday in moderate to high concentrations. The peak day will be tomorrow. In addition, a Heat Warning was issued for north, west and south Puerto Rico, Culebra, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. A Heat Advisory was issued for interior and eastern Puerto Rico and Vieques.
