Maloney, Walters capture crowns in joint pageant kicking off STJ Celebration

ST. JOHN — Calling for inclusivity for all body types in the world of pageantry, Jah’Millia Maloney sealed her victory as the St. John Celebration 2025 Queen amidst a sea of supporters at the Celebration Village in Cruz Bay on Saturday night.

The 20-year-old, who enjoys music, cheerleading, dancing, and aspires to join the Navy also captured Best Resort Wear, Best International Wear & Talent, Miss Congeniality, Best Evening Wear and Miss Intellect.

When asked how she would encourage other young people to be more involved in shaping the future of St. John, Maloney said she would urge “all the young ladies, people shaped like me to run for pageants.”

She described herself during the on-stage interview as “not in the stereotype.”

“You are you, from you, and not anybody else,” Maloney said.

Her sole competitor, first runner-up Nyimah Jacobs, a 17-year-old at Gifft Hill School who aspires to be a chef and community leader, was awarded Miss Photogenic and Miss Cooperative. Jacobs’ hobbies include cooking, sailing, steelpan and volleyball.
