The BVI Tourist Board (BVITB) has announced the appointment of Natasha Chalwell, former Director of Marketing for the BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA), as the new Deputy Director of Tourism.
The BVITB highlighted Chalwell’s extensive experience and achievements, noting her ability to support the Director in developing, implementing, and managing a wide range of tourism marketing strategies. These include overseeing the creation of the Board’s annual Marketing Plan, fostering partnerships within the regional and international tourism industries, and advancing the Board’s operational goals.
Chalwell’s role in the record-breaking recovery of the BVI’s cruise ship industry following the COVID-19 pandemic was particularly praised. Under her leadership, cruise arrivals reached unprecedented levels in 2023. The Board also acknowledged her previous tenure at the Tourist Board, where she successfully directed multiple international marketing campaigns and elevated the BVI’s reputation as a premier Caribbean destination. “Her success in building strong, strategic partnerships has been vital to the territory’s tourism growth, positioning the BVI as a must-visit location on the global stage,” the BVITB stated.
